Kol Nidre Appeal

Dear Members and Friends of the Young Israel of Stamford,

We will soon stand together in shul, praying for atonement, for forgiveness, and for the opportunity to remake and renew ourselves before G-d. As always, we open our doors to the community, extended family, and anyone else who would like to join us in prayer during this most special and meaningful time of year. 

Our hopes and vision for our shul and our community depend on you and your response to our appeal. Aseret Yimei Teshuva are a time for introspection, a time to make amends, and a time to give tzedakah. The shul’s Kol Nidre appeal accounts for more than one-third of our operating budget, and our needs are many. We ask, if possible, that every family contribute $1200 or more, in accordance with your financial capabilities. Our shul operates on a lean budget, thanks to our dedicated volunteers, but we still require an average of $5,000 annually from each member unit. This includes $3,200 beyond dues to support our full-time Rabbi, Youth Director, and the expanding programs that make our shul the warm, inviting home we cherish.

No matter what you give, every dollar will allow us to continue to enhance our shul: fund our educational, social, youth programming, and security: and ensure our long term sustainability so we can continue to be a focal point for your Jewish life.
